Holy Childhood Sisters

Sr. Rose has spent 56 years in South Africa. Now she has left the Region of St. Clare and returned back to Germany.

Sr. Maria made her perpetual profession in St. Benedict Cathedral on June 26th. She vowed to dedicate her life to God and the community of the Servants of the Holy Childhood of Jesus in the presence of the Church.

In the midst of the Covid 19 restrictions it was possible for the Region of St. Clare to celebrate the Jubilees of three Sisters.

For six years, a development worker from Germany supported our children’s home St. Joseph CYCC and the Holy Childhood Convent in South Africa. Management and staff are very sad to see her contract ending.

Sisters and friends gathered together to show love to Sr. Fidelis on her special day.

In April, 16 careworkers from St. Joseph CYCC celebrated their graduation. All of them passed their exams – a huge success not only for themselves, but also for the Holy Childhood Sisters and their children’s home in Mbongolwane.

While the second wave of the corona virus in South Africa has lost strength, Holy Childhood School continues to open its doors for all learners, making sure to observe all Covid 19 protocols stringently.

Again this year the two temporary professed Sisters of the Holy Childhood of Jesus renewed their “Yes”. Sr. Maria and Sr. Yolanda commited to God to live their lives in celibate Chastity, Poverty and Obedience.

The female inmates of Eshowe prison are grateful to have a Holy Childhood Sister helping them in their difficult situation. Over the last year, Sr. Teressa has been guiding the inmates to experience the presence of God in their lives.
